"I just found a place where there are none of those annoying Christians."

just been to the medieval fair in Tewkesbury, initially I though it a bit weird all that dressing up and strange customs then realised it felt a loss weird than most church I have done/do.

Mark B. and family were there too!

Good atmosphere. Strong Community.
Interesting experience. Certainly less annoying than church.

After 39 and a half years

After 39 and a half years

After 39 and a half years of wandering in the desert, Mrs Moses secretly asks for directions.......

I bet Mrs Moses wasn't the only one with doubts. I blogged a while ago about the need for a new kind of leader and have been inpsired recently by article you can find at

http://www. christianity.ca/church/leadership/2005/05.000.html

here's a taste...

"Jesus taught us there should be no "lords" among us but only friends and fellow servants. Unfortunately the modern secular business models we imported into the Church have largely taken precedence, and hierarchy is the norm. In the name of leadership and efficiency we havecontinued to give life to a clerical model that disempowers the people of God from a true priesthood. A the same time our leaders are oftentechnicians and marketing specialists. we need A NEW KIND OF LEADER unconcerned about the issues of marketing and structural maintenance and focused instead on discipleship and transformation, faithfulness, brotherhood and authenticity. We need leaders who are willing to step down into the world.

anyway good article i think. so do check it out.

waiting for the moment on a few practical details to be sorted out b4 I tell you more about the job situation....

dreams a reality

dreams a reality
dreams a reality, originally uploaded by justtherev.
well what a week! Monday I saw my tax consultant, Tuesday L and I saw this Bish who seems to want to give me a job and then Tuesday evening to Thursday afternoon was on retreat with my buddy John from Sheffield and then today have done a communion service, set up the church for all age on Sunday, been to T's sports day, been to Cheltenham with mike to measured for my best man's suit and been on the phone non stop to funeral directors and just got our broadband connection working. the job situation is far from definite but is looking very promising...so more on that soon I hope. retreat was fab. Watched School of rock and then A Mighty Wind (an excellent but surreal mockumentary I borrowed from rev balfour - thanks mark). Although the job is not in the bag yet I feel free again to dream....
